Step right up for a Recyclibrary this Saturday at MoMa !
Friends! Patrons! Mildly hungover lovers of the arts!
Here at the Recyclibrary, we don’t know much about art, but we do know what we like.
Right now, we are liking the fact that the next Recyclibrary will be popping up like a strangely literate fungus this Saturday 25th February at MoMa - the roof top market at the Museum of Old and New Art!
Well-loved Recyclibrarian Paige Turner will be joined by Herr von Schmarrn, our new Recyclibrarian for international literature, fresh off the plane from the land of sausages and beer. They will be pleased to present you with our latest literary smorgasbord, and will be stamping out books from around 12.30pm onwards.
We have a good selection of new books which were kindly donated by many of you at the Valentine’s Recyclibrary - do feel free to bring any spare literary morsels you have to donate to us this coming Saturday. Cups of tea, biscuits, exotic icecreams and steins of hefe-weizen also graciously accepted.
Tell your friends - this Saturday, the books are on the roof of MONA, and on us!
P.S. - We stole the fabulous image above from the site below - check it out for inspiring book art from around the world:
Thanks for a lovely Valentine's Day Recyclibrary - we went quite weak at the knees!
Friends! Patrons! Satiated lovers of all things pink and heart shaped!
Thank you so much for your love at our Valentine’s Recyclibrary - we had a gorgeous time, eating biscuits, drinking tea and helping rehome a broad selection of lovable, pre-loved books. We were also heartened by the number of donations we received on the day - our love goes out to all you generous souls who came down and shared the day with us!
Stay tuned for further updates as to our next Recyclibrary event!
This has very little to do with literature, but much to do with the indestructible nature of love.
The Bronx Zoo is giving you the opportunity to name one of their 58,000 Madagascan hissing cockroaches after the one you love. There’s even a choco-roach option for those sweet of tooth. Check it by clicking on the link above!
Come on girls! (and boys) Do you believe in love? ‘Cause the Recyclibrary’s got something to say about it, and it goes something like this…
Friends! Lovers! Book lovers!
The festival of St. Valentine draws nigh, and with it, a flurry of pink and red, heart-spattered paraphernalia and engorged amorous expectations. Is this a celebration of love, or a festival of commerce?
Here at the Recyclibrary, we believe in love. And not just the cash-intensive, gooey pink, chocolate heart-stuffed, diamond-spangled variety. We believe in the love of small children, of Nannas for their fat little lap dogs, of friends and family, and of course, in straight-out romantic, long walks on the beach, staring at the moon, hand-holding love.
And what better way to communicate your love and understanding of another soul than through the present of a well-chosen book?
Next Tuesday 14th February, we will be having a special Valentine’s Recyclibrary somewhere central and romantic, from around 11am til 2pm. We’ll update you as to the venue over the next few days.
Do you have any particularly lovely books you’d like to share with us? Bring them down on the day, or drop them off at Fullers. Trashy romance novels, books of poetry, and other tales of love especially welcomed.
Please do join us on Tuesday - Ms. Dusty Provenance, Miss Wimple and Ms. Paige Turner will be about to help you craft the perfect Valentine’s note to the one you love. But for now, we will leave you with a few words from Madonna:
“Without the heart, there can be no understanding between the hand and the mind.”
